Adults Hello!
My name is Karen O'Connor. It is my
objective to breed healthy, happy dogs that conform with the standard.
At the present time I own eight Cavaliers, five girls and three boys. One
of my girls is not on my web page currently, as I need to take new pictures
of her. I believe that health, quality and beauty can be achieved, and
that a good breeder will consistently breed for this type. To those of
you wanting to own an Inkahoots Cavalier I am always available and believe
there are no dumb questions, although I am not a know it all, I can direct
you to the right place for an answer if I am unable to give you one. My
Cavaliers are raised in my home and socialized from the time of birth,
so when they leave my home to enter yours they are healthy, happy, well
adjusted
puppies. Please check out my links page for links to the breed clubs and
other breeders websites.
I would
like to take this opportunity to give you some background on myself and
my experience with dogs. I am married with four grown children and currently
reside in Hustonville, Kentucky. I own my own home and have been married
for twenty-two years. My love for dogs began at an early age when my mother
and her best friend purchased a couple of Cocker Spaniels to show and breed.
This new avenue of dog showing was filled with exciting people and places,
but the best part for me were the dogs. The names of the first dogs we
owned are still a part of my memory and as I write this their names and
faces fill my mind. It wasn't long before my interest in the large breed
became a passion. I brought home every stray that would follow me and although
I had to find homes for them they were bathed and loved until that special
family came for them. When I married my husband our first addition to our
home besides our son was a Golden Retriever named Jake. Jake was trained
for a CD and a CDX by me, although Jake never competed due to an illness.
It was this illness that took me in a new direction called nutrition. This
research required hours, days, and years to understand and helped me develop
a diet that consisted of raw organ meats, vitamins and minerals that I
designed in a frozen state. You know that old saying "you are what
you eat", well it is true as much for humans as for every animal on the
planet. While training Jake in obedience I became interested in Rottweilers.
I showed and bred Rotties for seventeen years. I was very successful in
health and temperment, along with producing some champions. I became
involved in Cavaliers in 2002 when I saw my first litter of Blenheims and
Tri's. I fell head over heels in love with their endearing souls and pray
I will never be with out one. I believe first and foremost that health,
temperament, and quality are essential to producing not only quality of
type, but healthy dogs. These qualities are what can be seen in my dogs
at Inkahoots Cavaliers. I welcome all inquiries concerning my dogs, and
for those of you who show I look forward to seeing you in the ring, and
for those of you looking for a family member I hope you will consider one
of my treasured babies.
